Cabinet Options for Different Budgets and Project Types
Alley Design to Build offers several cabinet options so we can match the right product to the right project, budget, and design goals.
Instead of forcing every customer into one cabinet level, we help determine whether the project is best suited for a value-focused cabinet package, a mid-range cabinet package, a premium semi-custom/custom cabinet package, or an outdoor cabinet solution.

Cabinet Design Retainer
Some cabinet projects require more design time than others. To keep the process efficient and fair, Alley Design to Build uses a design retainer for projects that require detailed layout work, 3D renderings, or custom cabinet planning.
No Design Retainer Is Typically Required For:
- A single bathroom vanity
- One or two simple vanities
- Simple laundry room cabinets
- Straightforward cabinet add-ons
- Basic cabinet replacement with minimal design work
A Design Retainer May Be Required For:
- Full kitchen designs
- Layout changes
- Large bathroom projects
- Built-ins
- Bars
- Custom cabinetry
- Projects requiring 3D renderings
- Projects requiring detailed cabinet planning
- Projects requiring multiple revisions
Suggested wording
For projects that require detailed design work, a $250 cabinet design retainer may be required after the initial project review and design preview. This retainer is credited toward the cabinet purchase.
Additional explanation
We may review the project, discuss the goals, and show a preliminary visual direction either in the showroom or by Zoom. If the customer wants to move forward with detailed design work, revisions, drawings, or cabinet planning, the design retainer is required before copies of the design or detailed plans are released.
